Hany Alsabti qualifies for the #WFG rFactor 2 finals
August 14 2017

rFactor 2 hosted the first round of McLaren's #WFG program. 20 drivers on the grid with the top 5 each round qualifying for the finals in September. After three rounds the 15 finalist together with 5 others will form the grid for the final.

Over 1000 simracers participated in the qualifying round for the first race last week with the fastest 20 earning a spot on today's grid. Then a final 15 minute qualifying session and a super pole session would decide the order for the race. A good qualifying session but a difficult super pole session put Hany Alsabti, representing Scuderia Leone, fourth on the grid.

Rudy van Buren started from pole and created a small gap during the first few laps and pulled away slowly to take the win. Hany took over third at the start and had a calm first few laps.

Graham Carroll, running in fourth and Atze Kerkhof, running in fifth, were slowly joining Hany. Together they formed a small pack with Nikodem Wisniewski who was in second. For the latter half of the race it was this group trying to fight for positions but overtaking seemed too difficult to justify the risk, as the top 5 was essentially safe for a spot in the finals!
